It’s Paris haute couture fashion week !
Four days of incredible shows, stunning garnements, sparkles and hard work have just come to an end. So let’s take a look back at the most incredible pieces by major designers such as Dior, Giambatista Valli, Chanel at the 2022 Paris haute couture fashion week.
Dior is definitely my favorite brand since the revamp by Maria Grazia Chiurri, she really helped bring that femininity that I used to love at Valentino when she was working there, but still respecting the DNA of Dior and making it evolve in a way. This haute couture show, Maria Grazia Chiurri blessed us with incredible embroideries, an ode to the hardworking craftsmen of the ateliers. Her point was to show how these handcrafted elements were not a decorative addition to the garnement but instead were a full part of it. She really wanted the public of the Paris haute couture fashion week to understand that embroidery can construct a full silhouette.
“The craftsmanship that finishes a garment is not valued. It’s as if embroidery is something that’s only decorative, that it’s not really part of the design process,” .Maria Grazia Chiurri
I’m sure you’ve probably seen the viral video of Princess Charlotte Casiraghi opening the Chanel show at Paris haute couture fashion week, it was indeed magical. Her, the horse named Kuskus, her tailored chanel suit breaking the silence of that majestic installation by artist Xavier Veilhan.
Virginie Viard was inspired by the 20’s and 30’s era for this collection, which really showed through the feathery dresses and hourglass silhouettes.
Giambattista Valli :
If you know me, you know I’m Obsessed with Giambatista Valli, I mean who doesn’t want to be in a huge bubblegum pink couture chiffon dress ?? it’s romantic and soft and fresh and everything I love combined. Giambattista gives his clients the feeling of being a princess even in these dark times.
His couture is like :
“A timeless moment flowing between past and present.”Giambattista Valli
